Sustainability governance

Vicinity’s Board is responsible for overall governance of our company. The Board is chaired by Independent Non-Executive Director, Trevor Gerber, who was elected to take effect from the 2019 AGM when Peter Hay retired from the Board, including his duties as Chair. The Board consists of eight Directors (as at 30 September 2020), including CEO and Managing Director, Grant Kelley.

The Board has ultimate responsibility for Vicinity’s Sustainability strategy. Regular updates are provided to the Board and our Executive Committee on sustainability matters.

Vicinity’s Sustainability Committee forms part of our management committee structure and allocates responsibility for Vicinity’s sustainability agenda to the highest levels of the organisation. The Committee is chaired by our CEO and Managing Director and includes the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Development Officer (CDO) and a number of senior leader representatives.

The General Manager Sustainability reports directly to the CSO, and drives the sustainability strategy and programs at Vicinity. The sustainability team supports the business to implement the strategy, monitoring and driving continuous improvement in our performance across the business.
